Tammi Hartung Classes 2021
Tammi Hartung brings more than 40 years of experience as an Ethnobotanical Herbalist and Organic Grower. She and her husband, Chris, live in southern Colorado where they own a certified organic farm called Desert Canyon Farm. They raise more than 1800 different varieties of plants on their farm including all types of herbs, heritage and heirloom food plants, native and wildlife habitat plants, and edible flowers. Tammi speaks internationally and is the author of four books including Homegrown Herbs, The Wildlife-Friendly Vegetable Gardener, Cattail Moonshine & Milkweed Medicine and Growing 101 Herbs That Heal. Books are available at bookshops or online.
Willowtail Springs Plant Walk-About & Book-Signing Afterward

Join Tammi as she leads a walk-about to explore the wild and garden plant community living on the grounds of Willowtail Springs. Tammi will be pointing out native wild plants, garden plants and weeds and sharing the many uses they each have. This will be an opportunity to learn which plants are edible, which are used for medicine or textile purposes, how wildlife may rely on the plants and so much more. Please come prepared to be out in nature walking the grounds, so wear comfortable sturdy shoes, sun protection and bring a water bottle. You may also wish to bring paper and pen to take notes, along with a why to take photos of the plants. Children are absolutely welcome so long as they are accompanied by a supervising adult. Tammi will have her books available and be signing them following the Plant Walk-About.

Join Tammi, as we gather, in the beautiful gardens of Willowtail Springs to learn more about growing, harvesting and using medicinal plants. We will enjoy the beauty of the garden space while Tammi talks about how to grow many important medicinal plants. She will also share when and how to harvest these plants, along with the ways they are used medicinally. Please come prepared to be out in nature by wearing sun protection and bring a water bottle. You may also wish to bring paper and pen to take notes. Children are absolutely welcome so long as they are accompanied by a supervising adult. Tammi will have her books available and be signing them following the Garden Talk.
